We’re SALVO, a neighborhood bakery with 2 locations in the heart of Amsterdam. We’re here because we realize that the modern bakery holds a bigger meaning than simply selling pastries. Because it simultaneously functions as a communal space. You come in for your daily order and have a chat with your favorite staff members. Or you’re treating yourself to something delicious and bump into your neighbor doing the exact same thing.

Regardless of the reason for visiting, it’s a point in the day we look forward to, a break in our day. To pause and enjoy.
At SALVO, we put great value to the feeling of community. It reminds us of home, in Naples, where neighborliness is deeply ingrained into the culture. For instance, paying an extra coffee for the next person that comes in—caffé sospeso—a tradition entirely meant to give the person after you, a stranger, something nice in their day.
Many queues, specials, experiments and collaborations later, we’re looking back at what we’re all about. For us, the goal was never to become the best bakery. Our goal is to provide a space and delicious treats worth taking a moment for.
